I can't say that it runs perfectly, as I didn't even have time to undock, but the launcher launches the game and the CQ loads and runs.
If there are any problems, they're not blatant. I'll see if I can muster the time to do some session changes, since that seems to be one of the ultimate stress tests for the Mac client. Proud founder and member of the Belligerent Desirables. |

I got to zip around a little tonight, and I have to say, for something that isn't officially supported yet, it's pretty slick.
If you're not feeling adventurous, by all means wait for official support. Yosemite is a significant update. Proud founder and member of the Belligerent Desirables. |

Yeah, EVE does not like sharing its connection with anything else, especially not something that's using a lot of network traffic.

I know it sucks when yr Mac /Pc is not doing what you want. But my advise is keep it simple dont use a ton of Apps and run Eve at the same time........
I think memory plays a big part. I'm also on a Mid 2011 iMac, but only have 4GB of RAM and a 512MB graphics card. The page fault exceptions which pop up seem to point to a memory issue.
Yes.
Upgrading even to 8GB will improve things significantly. More is better.
This is the voice of experience, except that I had a 2008 24" iMac at the time.

Given my recent experiences with the Star *crash* Trek *freeze* Online *fail* client, I'm wondering if this isn't a problem with Cider/WINE and compatibility with Mavericks.
Mavericks changed a lot of things under the hood. It has very aggressive power management at the kernel level, and a host of other changes that Apple documented at length during the beta, but which are slipping my mind. It's a major release.
Not least is the not-entirely-subtle hint that Apple is done relying on OpenGL, and they want people moving to Metal.

Not yet.
Apple's discomfort with OpenGL is no great secret, though.
